A set of four miniature Royal Beasts of Windsor hand crafted in fine English pewter: The Lion of England; The Unicorn of Scotland; Edward III's Falcon and The Dragon of Henry VII.
Heights vary between 3.50 and 4.00 cms (1 3/8 - 1 5/8 inches)
Seventy six beasts adorn the roof of St George's Chapel with a further two beasts at the base of the West Steps: The Lion of England and The Unicorn of Scotland both with shields that bear the Royal Arms (as used in England).
The Falcon bears the three lions on its shield; the Royal Arms of England.
The Dragon bears a shield with the Beaufort Portcullis superimposed over the Tudor Rose. |
